New State, New Senators and Congressman

I'm new to Idaho, having moved here from Washington in September.  I am long overdue to write you about my top priority for the federal government: redirect funding from war and imperialism to nonviolence and education. As you know, the U.S. spends more on its military than the rest of the world combined; Congress and much of the American public is heavily influenced by the military industrial complex in their opinions, policy-making, and everyday lives.  I think this should change, and I ask, beg, plead, that Senators and Congressmen lead the country away from its status as champion of violence and the peddling of military hardware.

Today, November 4, is a special day to many people who blog and are interested in true peace.  It's called Blog Blast for Peace.  Have a look here for more information: http://mimiwrites.blogspot.com/.

Also, I post my letters to Congress in my own blog, called Giant Triplets.  As you may know, the term "Giant Triplets" was coined by Martin Luther King Jr.  The triplets are: racism, militarism, and extreme materialism.  Have a look here: http://gianttriplets.blogspot.com/.

  2. I am impressed and thrilled that you have taken this step of empowerment. What an example for all of us. I will fashion a peace globe for you because this post MUST go into the gallery.

Thank you so much for blogging for peace with us and being a voice in your new state of Idaho. They're lucky to have you there.

    Peace to you and yours,
    Mimi

  3. Hello Andy,

I am looking at peace posts (specifically for Blogblast4Peace) and linking them altogether in one place in my blog "Peace Bloggers Unite" so that all the peace bloggers can be side by side. Although you haven't actually done a post specifically for the day, I am making you an honorary member ( :-) ) for being more active than most of us are, and for the mention as well.
Also, I came from your comment on 'Do Peace' as I was curious about MLK's 'Giant Triplets'...thank you for enlightening me!
